I started my grand journey to watch the entire run of Deep Space Nine today. Just finishing up the first episode and it’s pretty much like I remember it. There’s a whole lot of potential here and I’m looking forward to seeing where these characters go (I think i only really watched about half of the first season when it was originally on).

There are all KINDS of problems though. The acting isn’t nearly as bad as the first season of Babylon 5 and most of the primary characters area actually pretty good. The exception here being Major Kira who is terrible but I know she gets better along the way so I’ll give her a pass BUT nearly every minor character esp. the woman playing Sisko’s wife are tragically bad!

As for the episode itself, lots of fun, some good action and really great/quick set up of the situation and intro to the characters. But, everything with Sisko in the wormhole ruminating about the great linear living/learning of humans is just as tedious and boring as I remembered it to be.
